Management - Jim Bechter
James L. Bechter, P.E., CPCU, RPLU, Chief Operating Officer
After working as a civil engineer for a number of years, Mr. Bechter entered the insurance industry in 1987 where he held positions in claims and underwriting. He joined RA&MCO Insurance Services in 1990 as a professional liability underwriter. In early 1993, he assumed general oversight duties of professional liability underwriting at RA&MCO. In 2004, Mr. Bechter was promoted to Managing Director of RA&MCO and now serves as its Chief Operating Officer.
He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from UCLA and a MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. He is a licensed Civil Engineer (P.E.), a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and a Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU). He is a member of CELSOC, the Consulting Engineers and Land Surveyors of California and is affiliated with various professional societies for architecture, engineering, and surveying professions.
